Shortly after launch of tolingo's online translation software & service platform in 2008 B Capital invested into this start-up and supported it through several venture capital financing rounds with inter alia Acton Capital Partners, Neuhaus Partners and KfW. Tolingo is now one of the Top 100 world LSP players. Exit in 2023 with >4x MoM.
Recorrido
Recorrido started in 2014 in Chile as an online bus ticket search and booking platform. B Capital was a shareholder from day one and is still through busbud today. Within a few years' time recorrido grew into a market leading position in Chile and started expanding into other Latin American countries. In 2021 recorrido transported 4 million passengers for a total of US $60 million of GMV. Recorrido was bought by busbud Inc. (Canada) in 2022 (very high MoM).
Busbud
Busbud is an online marketplace that enables global travellers to book intercity bus tickets on over 1 million bus routes worldwide. Available in 17 languages, the company's booking website and app offer tickets from over 3,900 bus companies in 16,000 cities across 80+ countries, and is based in Montreal, Quebec. It raised funds of over CAD $50 million from investors including the Canadian Business Growth Fund (CBGF), Investissement Québec (IQ), Wind Ventures, Inovia, OMERS Ventures, Real Ventures, Revolution Ventures, Plaza Ventures, FJ Labs, Export Development Canada (EDC), Claridge, Teralys Capital, K3 Ventures and BDC Capital, as well as angel investors who have served as key executives at Expedia, Google, Facebook, Airbnb and TripAdvisor. B Capital is a shareholder by way of selling shares in recorrido to busbud in 2022.
